Estate Strategies (and management information)

 

Aligned to the output from strategic planning exercises, including a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment with the Local Authority and the development of Practice-based Commissioning Plans, the PCT will need to prepare an Estate Strategy document. This will set out how the buildings and facilities required to support the services delivery profiles will be provided and optimally utilised to meet the following criteria :

• Quality of Health and Social care (outcomes)
• Affordability
• Accessibility

In essence, the Estate Strategy describes (from an estates perspective) what needs to be done and why, by when and how (including estimates of resources required) to make sure that the CIAMS is realisable and can be implemented.

The latest available NHS guidance will need to be augmented within the CIAMS implementation to account for the property management and occupancy arrangements, including financial models, to be put in place between Commissioners and Providers described in the Transforming Community Services programme.
