Data Integration Solutions
Within HEDM we have highly developed processes and proven solutions (using the Activeplan Software) that can take existing sets of information and extract core data to upload into a common (relational) database. We call this the Data Integration Channel.

Uniquely, we are able to extract and hold the spatial data from CAD files, create intelligent graphical objects from the spaces and items within a building, and attach / relate associated meta-data, such as from documents and spreadsheets to them – and vice-versa.
This means in practice that users of existing systems and applications can continue using them and we are able to extract and glue together core sets of data. For example, we are able to produce ‘intelligent floor plans’ of health care premises, which allow viewers to interrogate the plans for other sources of data such as the services provided from the facilities and all associated furniture and equipment. Conversely, users are able to generate plans or maps according to the data they wish to report, for example showing the distribution and patterns of healthcare service provision across a locality.

Once the information is uploaded to the database, it can be viewed, analysed and exported in a variety of different formats according to user preferences and system needs.
The database architecture is SQL (Standard Query Language) which means excellent interoperability with other applications. The ‘data cube’ functionality within SQL is enhanced with AP interfaces enabling a very flexible array of interrogation and reporting routines.
Results can be output in formats such as MS Excel and PDF for ease of access and use.
A series of fact sheets are available (below) which provide further information.
